HALIBUT FISHING - VALDEZ ALASKA 2000

May 22, 2000, We headed down to Valdez for the first Halibut trip of 2000. The crew consisted of Matt and Martie Scofield and Annjenette and myself. We chartered out on a boat called the "The Kraka-Dawn" with Goodhand charters and we had two of the best Halibut charter captains (Tom and Pat) in the Valdez area. The weather was good and we are able to get way out in the Gulf of Alaska. We were able to get our limit with ease (8 Halibut and 1 large Yellow Eye) with Annjenette catching "The Big One" weighing in at 115 lbs. When it was all said and done we divided up 300+ pounds of packaged fish. What a great way to start the 2000 fishing season !
